Painting At The School

Play Game

For the passed two months I have been going to the Preahlean school with my friends who work at PEPY with me. One day, we went to meet the students at this primary school and did an art project. It was a very hot day. The children there had been were waiting for us to come and paint with them at their school. There were about 40 students in all, and we brought paint, brushes, and water along with us. When we first arrive the school, we played some games with the children.

Painting

I had been at this school before, and I remembered two little boys who I met back then who were very friendly. They remembered me too, and we played some of the same games together that we played when I visited them before. After a while, my brother and Maria explained again why we came to paint the school, and how we should use the paints and colors. The children were very excited to be able to paint their own school. Everyone hoped that in the end they would have a very nice colorful school. We decided to paint a wall near the school garden where there were flowers planted. We wanted our painted flowers to look nice along with the real flowers that were growing. After we explained everything to the children, everyone began painting. The children were very happy with all they did, and some of them could paint very well. I painted some of my flowers on the wall as well. Even I did not know how to mix the colors, but I kept trying and finally I was happy with what I had done. The sun was shining and it was very hot. After about an hour, we were finished

The Field

with all the flowers and trees. Our work looked really beautiful, and we all enjoyed our time working together very much. The school looked very different and much more beautiful. Many of the children played around with the paints, and painted their face, hands, and clothes.

Temple

We took many very nice pictures together so we would have good memories for later. Finally, we needed to say goodbye to everyone and begin our trip back to Siem Reap. We had a great time and everyone enjoyed themselves.
